Longer than usual post -
Pete and I met up with Antonietta and Frank in Little Italy for their engagement session. I couldn’t believe how busy it was on that small stretch of Mayfield Rd. People and cars were everywhere. Restaurants and shops were packed. Antonietta and Frank are really brave people. It’s one thing to go to a park for your engagement session, but it’s a whole different thing to do a photo shoot on the crowded sidewalks of Murry Hill. A lot of people took a special interest in our little shoot, but it didn’t phase them at all. They were as calm and natural as can be.
I had a blast working with Antonietta and Frank because they were willing to try anything. Well, Antonietta wouldn’t break the law (would have been a miner, miner infraction), but other than that, they were willing to try anything. They also didn’t have a problem showing a lot of affection or getting goofy. As a result, the shoot lasted for a long time. After the first hour we were just getting warmed up. I’d still be out there shooting if no one else cared about sleeping. But fortunately, I get to spend the whole day shooting their wedding in just a couple weeks.
A special thanks to Pete for doing a great job with the light stick and to Corbo’s Bakery for unlocking their doors for us after hours to snap a few shots of Antonetta and Frank window shopping for wedding cakes. Frank was especially excited about one cake in particular (proof near the bottom). It’s not hard to get excited about Corbo’s bakery though.
