I really enjoy shooting at locations that are new to me. Laura and Edward wanted their engagement photos to be taken at a beautiful winery in Geniva. Then we went right down the street to the lake and downtown Geniva.

Laura and Edward are a really fun couple and I’m really looking forward to their wedding.

Rolanda and Richard

Rolanda and Richard were married on August 8. The ceremony and reception took place at the Walden Inn and Walden Country Club respectively. It was a beautiful day with lots of love and emotion. Rolanda’s uncle presided over the service and delivered a very touching sermon.

The reception was also very beautiful with touching speeches from Rolanda and Richard’s children and a very well-done song by Rolanda’s sorority sisters. I had a wonderful experience with Rolanda and Richard.

Lisa and Alan

Lisa and Alan were married at St. John’s Cathedral downtown. Their reception was at Windows on the River in the Flats.

St. John’s Cathedral is one of the most ornate churches in NEO. The church has definitely relaxed its rules a bit, at least for photographers. After the beautiful ceremony, we all hopped on the trolley and headed to the hotel, then all around downtown Cleveland. There was a mini baseball field set up for kids next to Progressive Field. We thought it would be fun to play some ball until we got kicked off by a security guard. But we did get one pitch in. After that, we went to the Rock Hall for more photos and Windows for the reception. There was no shortage of laughing, dancing and having a good time all night.

Lisa, Alan and their bridal party were such a relaxed and fun crowd to be with all day.

Eboni and Mark

Eboni and Mark were married on August 6 (I’m a little behind) at Our Lady of Peace and the reception was at The Banquet Center at St. Noel. Lo-Key Entertainment Provided the music at the reception.

I was really anticipating this wedding because I had such a great time with Eboni and Mark during their engagement session. They were really natural and playful and had no problem being themselves. So almost a year later, the big day finally arrived. I began shooting the girls at Excentrix Salon, which is owned by Tierra, a member of the bridal party. Everybody was really calm and relaxed. The girls were practicing the Wobble for later that night. You can learn it here.

Eboni and Mark had a beautiful ceremony officiated by Mark’s grandfather. After the ceremony we went to Colby Park. We were a little against the clock there, but we still managed to get some great shots. Lance Anderson second shot with me and did an awesome job as usual.

Alexa

I think it’s safe to say that senior photos have come a long way since I was entering my senior year. I remember laying next to a big “96″ in my high school baseball uniform in a cramped studio under hot lights. My mom thought it was a great idea, but I wasn’t buying it. Unfortunately, my mom not only bought it, she bought an 8×10 of it, and it hung in the living room for far too many years.

Anyway, when it comes to seniors, I try to get as far away from “cheesy” as possible. I’m pretty sure Alexa and I achieved that. Alexa is a total natural in front of the camera. I mean, SHE ROCKED IT! She’s also really nice and fun. Picking my favorites for this post was tough, but here goes.

Stacy and Ryan

Stacy and Ryan were married on July 31 at the Avon Lake United Church of Christ and the reception was at Tom’s Country Place in Avon. Stacy and Ryan are so nice and laid back. In fact, the whole bridal party was great to hang out with. Everyone had fun during the photos. The ladies were especially funny.

Tom’s Country Place has beautifully landscaped grounds. I could have spend hours shooting there without running out of ideas. Stacy and Ryan are fun to photograph because no matter what I asked them to do, it looks so natural. They just had fun together.

The reception was full of surprises, including a couple gnomes and a excellently executed dace to Thriller.

Lance Anderson second shot with me and caught some awesome moments, as usual. It was an awesome wedding and Lance and I had a blast.

Jason and John

I had a great time hanging out with Jason and John for senior/brother photos. The shoot was at Wade Oval in University. Jason and John warmed up to the camera after about 10 minutes of shooting. Posing for photos, especially in a public place, is not easy for most people. But they did a great job and really made my job easy.

Marriette and Mark

I was looking forward to Marriette and Mark’s wedding ever since their engagement session last fall. We had a lot of fun and the photos turned out great. Their wedding was no different.

Marriette and Mark were married at St. John Vianney in Mentor and the reception was at La-Vera Party Center in Willoughby Hills. After the beautiful ceremony we took some photos outside of the church and at Colby Park.We had a lot of time for photos, so we really had a chance to take advantage of what Colby Park has to offer.

Hanging out with Marriette, Mark and their bridal party for the day was a great time.

Tiffany and Marc

Tiffany and Marc live in Canada, but were in Cleveland for a few days, so we thought it was a good time to do the engagement session. They wanted to do something with an urban/industrial feel to it, so we met near the old cold storage building on Abby Ave. We shot in that area for a while, then went to Voinovich Park for some photos by the lake.

Tiffany and Marc are really nice and fun. Between shooting we always had something to chat about. I had a great time with them. I’m really looking forward to their wedding this fall.

Rebecca and Gary

Lake Erie can be a great place to take engagement photos. I met up with Rebecca and Gary at West Beach in Lorain. When I got there the wind was blowing so hard that I could see walls of sand moving across the beach. But we waited it out for a few minutes, and ended up with a beautiful sunset. The park also has a cool fountain with colored lights that illuminate pillars of water. It resembles a volcanic eruption.

We had a great time on the beach. I’m looking forward to Rebecca and Gary’s wedding later this summer.
