They were for the cover of the Annual Report for the Industrial Fasteners Institute. This was the second consecutive year I shot the cover image and I’d be thrilled to do it again.

This morning I received this message:

“Rob is thrilled with the cover photo you took that we chose for this year’s IFI Annual Report.  We used the large bolt with background of raised nut.  He said he might even like it better than last year’s eagle, which is hard to believe, since he loves eagles!!

Thanks for the outstanding photos.”

I also received a copy of the report. I honestly expected them to choose a different image. But after seeing how they used it, I think it looks great.

The nut in the background is an actual shadow. The nut is about a foot in front of the bolt.
