Confident, but approachable

This was the description of how the attorneys at Bucky King are are to be portrayed in their new photos. These were taken at their Columbus firm. I’ll be shooting the attorneys at the Cleveland firm over the next couple weeks.

The folks at Buckley King were so great to work with. Normally, on the shoot like this, the first words I hear are “how long is this going to take?” But this shoot was very different. The goal was to get some variety and try to avoid the typical headshot, while keeping it professional. Confident, but approachable is a good description.

Getting in front of the camera and trying to put on a believable smile is a very difficult thing to do for most people, including me. The attorneys at Bucky King must be happy people, because they didn’t have the slightest problem with this. They couldn’t have been easier to work with. I’m really looking forward to working with them in the future.

So Curly, So Kinky, So Straight

Monica, the owner of a salon in South Euclid called So Curly, So Kinky, So Straight, needed photos of a couple various hair styles, as well as some shots of her staff. This is a really cool salon with a lot of unique features. Besides offering amazing stylists, hair products, manicures, massages and make-up, the salon also offers a bunch of cool apparel, including jeans, tops, purses and shoes. It looked like a fashionable retail store as much as it did a salon.

The models and the staff were a blast to work with. Everyone had a great time getting their photos taken. I had a great time taking them.

Baby Joshua

I love when I hear from past wedding couples a year or so after their wedding because it usually means they have a baby. Such is the case with Caitlin and Josh. Now, there are two Joshes in the family. Joshua is a cute little one and so well behaved for photos. Hardly a peep out of him.

I was great catching up with Caitlin and Josh and meeting their new addition.

I think it’s safe to say that senior photos have come a long way since I was entering my senior year. I remember laying next to a big “96″ in my high school baseball uniform in a cramped studio under hot lights. My mom thought it was a great idea, but I wasn’t buying it. Unfortunately, my mom not only bought it, she bought an 8×10 of it, and it hung in the living room for far too many years.

Anyway, when it comes to seniors, I try to get as far away from “cheesy” as possible. I’m pretty sure Alexa and I achieved that. Alexa is a total natural in front of the camera. I mean, SHE ROCKED IT! She’s also really nice and fun. Picking my favorites for this post was tough, but here goes.

Jason and John

I had a great time hanging out with Jason and John for senior/brother photos. The shoot was at Wade Oval in University. Jason and John warmed up to the camera after about 10 minutes of shooting. Posing for photos, especially in a public place, is not easy for most people. But they did a great job and really made my job easy.

Last week I went to Shalersville to take senior photos of Alex. It was a nice change of pace to do a portrait session. Alex was really fun to work with. I’ll be going back to take more photos of her in the fall. I’m looking forward to it.

Olivia Madda

After shooting Bar Mitzvah photos in the morning, I met my wife and in-laws at Jack and Patty’s house to celebrate Olivia’s First Communion. The Maddas are good friends, and I was looking forward to snapping some shots for them.

Maressa and Alex

I had such a great time taking maternity photos for Maressa and Alex. They were so much fun to work with and were so relaxed. Their house is beautiful with tons of natural light, which is always a big plus for me. I’m really looking forward to taking photos of their little baby boy in the very near future. Alex is a tall, beautiful young lady with a desire to model cloths. After a few months of trying to match up schedules, we finally got together for a shoot. Alex did a great job. She had great expression and tons of confidence, which are indispensable in modeling. Here’s a few of my favorite shots.

TJ is one of the best-behaved babies I’ve ever photographed. He just kept smiling. In fact, we were a good 20 minutes into the shoot before he got even a little tired of everyone shouting out his name, making silly faces at him and moving him around.
