Dawn and Michael were married on June 13 at Lake Farmpark in Kirtland. It was a PERFECT day for an outdoor wedding.
I met Dawn and Mike about a year and a half ago. In fact, I think they were my first booking for 2009. I remember Dawn being very organized and having a good idea of how everything was going to go, even at that early stage of the planning process. I’m sure Mike had a lot to do with that, but this particular Sunday happened to be Super Bowl Sunday, so he may have been a bit distracted.
In September, we had a great engagement shoot on the beach in Mentor. We had a clear evening and a really nice sunset. Dawn and Michael were so relaxed and easy–going. They even had me take some shots of them playing football on the beach. I had been looking forward to documenting their wedding ever since that shoot. Now it has come and gone, but I captured a lot of wonderful memories for them.
Dawn got ready at the park with the help of her lovely bride’s maids. The girls were messing with me from the very beginning, so I knew that working with the bridal party was going to be a lot of fun.

What an entrance!

They let me tag along on the buggy after the wedding.

We headed back to familiar tarritory for photos.

The reception was at La-Vera Party Center in Willoughby Hills. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting La-Vera many times, both for work and as a guest. I’ve always been impressed with their professionalism, and most importantly, their food. In my experience, they really go the extra mile for their customers and vendors.

Who said the bride and groom always have to be the ones with cake on their faces?

I admit, I tried a little bit of everything.
