The best thing about my job is every shoot is a new adventure. No two locations or couples are the same. Dawn and Scott are no exception. Instead of the usual engagement shoot, they decided to mix it up a little and wear their wedding-day attire. Their wedding is next week, so this shoot was like their creative session during the wedding, but a little earlier and a lot longer. I truly had a blast working with Dawn and Scott. They were excited about getting creative and arranged for some very interesting places to shoot.
Maria helped me out again today by manning the flash. It was a big help too because we shot is some really dark places.
We started out at the West Side Market on W25th street. Then we made an impromptu stop at the Great Lakes Brewery. With their permission, we went to the basement and shot a few silly shots and a few moody shots. Then we headed to a bar on W117th street called Spitfire Saloon, which features an all punk jukebox and more than 80 varieties of beer. This place was a lot of fun to shoot at. The bar’s owner, Stosh (don’t know if that’s spelled right), was kind enough to let us in before the bar opened. He also let us move a bunch of stuff around and stand on the bar for a few shots (no pun intended).
I’m really looking forward to Dawn and Scott’s wedding next week. Here’s a few shots from toda’ys session.
