While testing lighting for a recent maternity shoot, my studiomate Marisa and I snapped these photos of Nate goofing around.

The reception was at The Ballroom at Park Lane, formerly known as Park Lane Villa in University Circle. It’s really an amazing venue and one of my favorites to shoot at. Heather and David had blue up-lighting, which made the space look even more incredible than usual.

Working with Heather, Dave and their bridal party was incredible fun. There were definitely some nerves and butterflies before the ceremony, but as soon as it was over, Heather and Dave were ready to celebrate and enjoy the day. Everything went off without a hitch and fell into place perfectly.

I was really happy to work with so many amazing professionals. Heidi Baumgart and Leigh Perrino of Heidzillas did the wedding planning and made sure everything was in place and on time, as well as so much more. John of Selective Sound did a great job with the up-lighting, MC duties and most importantly, music. The Ballroom at Park Lane was great to work with as well. The food was amazing. Heather Lily provided the beautiful bouquets and centerpieces for the tables.

I often ask someone in the bridal party to draw attention to themselves and make whoever I’m photographing laugh. It’s interesting to see what some people do. The groomsman below obviously has at least one child. It worked though. Nate took this shot.

After the ceremony, we went to Wade Oval near the Cleveland Museum of Art for photos. Even though we were on a pretty tight timeline, Halle and Damon were totally chill and having fun. Their bridal party was a lot of fun to be around as well.

I had two other photographers working with me; Kevin Chuey and Nate Radell. They both did an awesome job.

The next day was the actual wedding ceremony. Maria and the girls got their hair and make-up done at Alps Beauty Clinic, which is one of the top salons in Delhi. It was a really tight squeeze working in there, but the stylists there could not have been more accommodating. After the salon, I headed to the Goukul Residence hotel where Varun was getting ready. We then left for his parents’ house and the near-by temple.

From the temple, we drove to close to where the ceremony took place. A large marching band and a white horse awaited Varun for the processional parade to the ceremony location. There were several rituals that took place durning the processional. The ceremony itself was full of beautiful colors and scents. It lasted for about two hours. After the ceremony, we went to Varuns’ parents’ house for one more ritual, then to the Grand SeasonsBanquet Center, which Varun’s family owns and Varun runs. There were more than 1,200 people in attendance, along with an elephant to give guests a ride down a main Delhi street. After that, we went to the Govindam party center next door for dancing and drinks. The Govindam is owned by Varun’s uncle.

The next morning we went to another temple for more rituals and a game where Maria gets a chance to smack several of the men in Varun’s family with a stick. The event drew a crowd and a lot of laughs.

Thanks to Charlie for helping out with photography at the salon and during the ceremony. He was a huge help.

There was no time for photos of Maria and Varun on the wedding day, so we did them about a week later. We took all the photos at Varun’s family’s residence. The whole family occupies an entire gated street, which has amazing locations for photos. Below are some of my favorite photos from the wedding. I’ll be posting some personal photos soon.

The Grand seasons is more than 15,000 square feet of banquet space. Its beautifully lit and decorated and has grass like a putting green. The was a massive amount of food, drinks and deserts. It’s really a beautiful place.

Kevin, Nate and I had an amazing time working with Stephanie, Kevin and their families. Everyone was so easy-going and such a pleasure to be around. What a wonderful way to start the 2012 wedding season.

Sarah and Chris were complete naturals and totally relaxed. We really had fun with the shoot and got a ton of great pics. Here’s a few of my favorites.

Luckily, it turned out to be a nice evening and we had a great session in Downtown Willoughby. Heather and Dave were a lot of fun to hang out with and photograph. They both did a great job. I’m excited about their wedding in May!

Katie and Brandon are one of the most easy-going couples I’ve worked with. They were so relaxed and fun to be around. The bridal party was a lot of fun too.

I got to work this wedding with some very talented people. Marisa Finimore shot with me, and Heidi of Heidzillas made sure every detail was executed perfectly. Everyone had a great time.
