We took photos before the ceremony at Goodale Park in Columbus. The ceremony and reception was at The Loft at Dock 580 just a few minutes away.

Nate and I had a great time with Soo and Sean as well as the bridal party. It was also fun to hang out with everyone after the wedding too.

He had his first game of the 2013 season. The boys alternate all over the diamond. Jackson played second, left-center, right and third. He was definitely swinging for the fences. It’s going to be a really fun season. Go Tigers.

Now for the important stuff…

Jessica and Eric’s wedding was February 9. The ceremony was at St Bede the Venerable in Mentor and the reception was at The Ritz-Carlton in Cleveland.

I was really excited for this wedding for a couple reasons. This was my second opportunity to work with Jessica’s family. Also, we had an awesome engagement session in the fall. After their ceremony, we headed to downtown for photos. It was freezing, but the bridal party was willing to tough it out and make the most of an otherwise beautiful day. We also had time to take photos in the Ritz, which always makes a great backdrop.

The reception was amazing. The toasts and blessing was so memorable and heartfelt. The crowd knew how to party as well.

Congratulations to Jessica and Eric!! Nate and I loved working with you and your families. Here’s a few of my favorite shots.

When I first chatted with her on the phone about the shoot, I asked her to bring a copy of the album to the studio so I could get a feel for her style. When she played the first track, I was blown away. Not only is her voice amazing, but she had several of the best musicians in Cleveland as part of her ensemble in the recording studio. I love jazz, so I took her album right away. Once it’s mastered, I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.

The setting for the shoot is a beautiful, eclectic home in Chagrin Falls. The owners were kind enough to let us use it for several hours. Tara was really fun and easy to work with, and she was about as comfortable getting her photo taken as anyone I’ve ever shot. We took a million photos, but below are a few of my favorites. When the wedding day arrived, there wasn’t much time for photos between the ceremony and reception, so we made plans to do another shoot two days later.

Carla and John Michael were married at The Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea. This is a very old and very gorgeous church. The reception was on the Sunset Pier at Ocean Key Resort in Mallory Square. This was an amazing location for a reception. As the name suggests, there was a perfect sunset view. The actual reception took place under a huge white tent that covered half the pier. Everyone who came to Key West, came to party. The level of energy at this wedding was unbelievable. The food was incredible, as were the speeches, dances and music.

Two days later we headed to the beach at the southern-most point of the island (and continental US) for some sunset photos and video. Carla and John were willing to do anything, including go in the ocean in their wedding cloths. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with.

Not going into detail, but the best best-man speech I’ve ever heard below. I laughed, teared up, and laughed again. The photo says it all.

Carla’s dad gave this fancy shotgun to John as a birthday gift. It was a real surprise for John. It’s a beautiful piece as well.

Jackie and George made everything so easy for Nate and I. They were totally laid back and fun to work with. They also posed and photographed like naturals, even though it was frigid outside. But I really loved all the candid moments in this wedding.

Brookside Country Club in Canton is a beautiful facility with great food. Bob Hill’s Orchestra provided classic numbers during cocktail hour and dinner. Then the party got going. I’m happy to have been a part of Jackie and George’s big day.
