Caitlin and Josh Kick off the 09 Wedding Season

Congratulations to Caitlin and Josh! They were married on May 16 at St. Mary in Berea.

Before I get to the wedding, I want to say that I have had a great time all winter and spring photographing a variety of things from Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and First Communions to products, babys and political events. But I have been itching for wedding season for months. It has finally arrived, and I couldn’t ask for a better couple to kick it off with than Catlin and Josh.

Catlin and Josh are both wonderful people and dedicated to serving others, but in very different ways. Caitlin is a “baby catcher” (nurse) as the priest calls her, and Josh is in the Army Reserves.  He wore his dress blues, but Caitlin chose not to wear scrubs.

Rain was a concern. It’s not a big deal if you know for sure it’s going to come down. But when it’s iffy, it’s hard to decide if you should chance it or seek shelter from the get-go. We chanced it, and I ‘m glad we did. Caitlin had mentioned at the rehearsal that everything was going to be OK because she had a “talk with God” about the weather. I have to admit, I was a “Doubting Thomas” for a few minutes, but I should have known better . It rained on the way to our photo spot in Olmsted Falls, and it rained as soon as we finished. But there was hardly a drop while we were taking pictures. The timing couldn’t have been better.

I was looking forward to this wedding ever since the engagement session last fall because working with Caitlin and Josh was so much fun. The bridal party was a lot of fun too. I truly enjoyed capturing the memories of Caitlin and Josh’s wedding day.

Lizz Pruitt - So funny — Last year I had a wedding at St. Mary’s and the reception was also at Michauds! Looks like you had a great day. My favs are: photo with the flag, kissing on the bridge, father/daughter dance and bouquet toss.

Where did you take the photos with the red & blue in the background with each individually? Looks like it may have been in Olmsted Falls?

Lizz Pruitt - Oh, wait. Nevermind. I think you shot at the 100th Bomb? Not Michauds. Ooops…

Josh Peacock - Justin- These pictures turned out great! A few of my favorites are the ones with Caitlin and I in the falls, Caitlin in front of the red building, the saber with our rings, and of course, any picture with me in it.

Can’t wait to see how the book turns out.

Thank you so much for your work

MOB - Everyone who has seen these wedding photos has gone crazy over them! They are unique, yet not too ‘artsy’. Wonderful perspective, and fun too. They are even better than Caiti and Josh’s engagement photos. Justin, you are great too. You were everywhere, but not at all intrusive. I have recommended you to everyone!

Justin - Thanks MOB! It was a pleasure working with everyone. Caitlin and Josh were so easy to photograph. I believe the engagement session had a lot to do with that.

The photo of Caiti and Josh in front of the flag is part of a half-page ad I have placed in Today’s Bride. It will be on news stands in mid-July and will run for a year. Someone from the Today’s Bride art department told me they love the ad. I’m excited about it.

    Thanks again!
