Laura and Laurent

Laura and Laurent had an amazing wedding at Brookside Farm in Louisville. So many things made this wedding fun and unique.

While Laura and Laurent met and reside in New York City, neither of them are from there. Laura is from Ohio and Laurent is from France. A great number of friends and family made the trip from France to witness and celebrate their wedding. Secondly, the venue itself. Brookside is a beautiful facility with endless scenic variety. The ceremony took place under a huge tree that offered shade to everyone who attended. The reception was in a giant barn, with lots of little lights, candles, chandeliers and plenty of room for dancing. It was rustic and elegant at the same time.

Another unique thing was the getaway car; a 1964 Impala convertible, which was owned and driven by a family friend. It was the perfect day for a ride with the top down, and made for some great photos. Thirdly, the party itself. Laura’s brother, Kevin, is one of the amazing DJs at The DJ Crew. He didn’t Dj this wedding, but he did do the intros, which set the stage for a one off-the-hook party. Phil of The DJ Crew took over from there.  The dance floor was packed immediately and was going strong when Nate and I left.

Finally, Laura and Laurent made the day extra fun. It was pushing 90 degrees all day, but Laura and Laurent weren’t going to let that put a damper on their wedding. They worked fast, were totally relaxed and were such a pleasure to be with. Their families were kind as could be too. Nate and I had a great time.

Félicitations!

Laura and Laurent wrote their own vows and professed them in English and French.

Below is Nate’s shot.

Laura and I thought it would be a great idea if I hopped in the car with them. Nate got this shot of the car speeding away.

Of course, because Laurent is French, he’s also Mr. Romance. He required no instruction.

Kevin revving up the party before the into. The Dj Crew is known for such things, but Kevin had a familiar crowd and gave it a little something extra.
